The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on Thursday chaired the meeting with the cabinet ministers. The major issues discussed during the meeting were related to flood-affected regions. PM Sharif further paid tribute to those who lost their loved ones in the catastrophe.
At the very start of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended greetings and thanked all the cabinet ministers for their care, good wishes as well as prayers for his recovery during his illness period.
Meanwhile, PM Sharif has also paid tribute and expressed grief to the families of the victims, who have lost their loved ones during the flood as well as to those who lost their homes, land and other essential things.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has further directed and asked the Federal Minister of Finance, Minister of Poverty Alleviation as well as Social Security, Chairman Benazir Income Support Program, Minister of Climate Change, Minister of Communications, Power Minister, NDMA and all the concerned institutions to carry out all the relief, rehabilitation and necessary measures and other steps for helping and assisting victims in the flood-affected regions.
At the same time, PM Sharif has especially highlighted and appreciated the efforts put in by the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman for successfully highlighting the damages caused by the recent floods in the Pakistan, as a result of climate change in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt at the international forum COP-27.
Prime Minsiter Sharif has further assured about the assistance of the international community for the damages caused by the recent floods in Pakistan and the establishment of the Loss and Damages Fund for the affected nations to deal with the effects of climate change. Whereas, he has also announced that the government of Pakistan is doing well on the front.
Apart from this, the cabinet ministers have also extended prayers for the officers who were martyred in the recent incidents of law enforcement agencies.
The Cabinet prayed for the late mother of Prime Minister’s Secretary Syed Tauqeer Shah. Apart from this, the Cabinet also prayed for the forgiveness of the officers who were martyred in the recent incidents of law enforcement agencies.
