Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the former federal minister of Pakistan, held a meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan at Zaman Park, Lahore, on 20 November, Sunday. He met with PTI-chief after Khan was shot in his right leg during a protest rally in Punjab.
Following the meeting with former PM, Rashid Ahmed said that, “he had travelled from Rawalpindi, especially to meet with Imran Khan and to play his part in preparations for the upcoming long march, which is to be carried out on 26 November.”
Moreover, he said that even though the doctors had not given him fitness approval, the ex-prime minister would still be leading the rally. According to Sheikh Rashid, “doctors have recommended (Imran Khan) not travel in his current condition. He was shot by an unidentified gunman during his rally at Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad town of Punjab and was caught under open fire and sustained a bullet injury. He was shifted to the hospital by police in a bullet-proof vehicle.”
The rally in which Imran Khan got shot was called the ”biggest freedom movement” in the nation. The rally’s purpose was to press the government to commence immediate elections in the country. This move came days after he (Imran Khan) was disqualified by Pakistan’s Election Commission.
The long march going to be held on 26 November is to have the ‘Shafaq elections’ in Pakistan. As per the reports, Rashid Ahmed is not in favour of the current technocrat government in the nation. Moreover, according to him, ”the people of Pakistan are mocking the government as the economic situation worsens. The prices of the daily consumption products and vegetables are touching the sky already,” he added.
”The most devastating effects of such situations are directly aimed at the country’s common person. They are facing these problems in their daily life which have made their lives harder, “He stated.
The event will be conducted in the daylight as he (Imran Khan) got attacked for his life previously, and the security will be closely monitored. The Ex-Federal Minister further added that they are encouraging and inviting the nation’s people to participate in the long march in support of Imran Khan.
