Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit extended greetings and wishes on the occasion of Easter to the people of Dominica on Sunday, April 9, 2023. Melissa Skerrit- Parliamentary Representative for Roseau Central Constituency, also joined the prime minister in expressing her love and care on Easter Day.
PM Roosevelt Skerrit took to Facebook to send a blessing on the day and stated that may the day brings new hope and new light of happiness in everyone’s life. He asked people to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and said that by worshipping God, a human could make themselves prosperous and happy.
He said, “May this Easter bring you new hope, new faith and new beginnings. Happy Easter, my friends.”
While extending wishes on behalf of the government of Dominica and his family, PM Roosevelt Skerrit continued, “2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” My dear friends, I extend Easter greetings from the Government of Dominica and from my family. May God bless you.”
Melissa Poponne Skerrit also took to Facebook and extended wishes on Easter. She stated that Easter is an occasion for spreading love and care and wished “A Blessed Easter Sunday from my family to yours.”
She also took the opportunity to distribute Easter gifts to the children of Dominica and went to the China Friendship Hospital along with her Easter Bunnies. Melissa Skerrit also shared a video on her Facebook showcasing the distribution of gifts and goody boxes to the children and elderly people by Easter Bunnies of Melissa Skerrit.
Melissa Skerrit and PM Roosevelt Skerrit also wished for the speedy recovery of the children and added, “Our Easter Bunnies sharing the love on the Winston ward at Dominica China Friendship Hospital.”
Along with the children, the parliamentary representative also gave a goody box to the elderly people to share the Easter festivities. She said Happy Easter, everyone. The Easter Bunnies were out and about this week! Did you see them? They caught them in action! She also sent a goody box to our elders and visited the little ones at the hospital to share the Easter festivities.”
