The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) emir, Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday has lifted the issue of mistreatment of the Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
It is to be noted that, JUI-F emir, Maulana Fazlur Rehman raised his voice against this issue during the last day of his visit to Kabul Afghanistan.
The issue was discussed during Maulana Rehman’s meeting with the deputy prime minister, Interior Minister, Siraj-ud-din Haqqanoi along with other cabinet members.
The statement from the JUI-F on the last day of Maulana Rehman’s visit, added that the party chief met with the several cabinet members and high ranking officials, making sure that the Islamic Emirate of all possible cooperation.
At the same time, the senior party leaders have also acknowledged that the JUI-F chief held meeting with the head of the Afghan government, Mulla Hibatullah and held discussion on the steps to solve the issues that are becoming obstacles in the relations between both the nations.
The statement, further added that, Maulana Rehman, during the visit held meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, flanked by Defence Minister, Mullah Yaqoob, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mullah Amir Muttaqi, and others.
Mullah Baradar highlighted that the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” was a safe and peaceful nation, and said that they were suffering from negative propaganda.
Mullah Yaqub has called JUI-F chief’s visit a timely move which will eventually help in lowering the tensions between the two nations, expressing confidence that the situation would change soon.
The commerce minister of Afghanistan highlighted higher trade volumes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. However, Rehman emphasized that the trade between the nations must be legal and structured.
In another meeting, Haqqani told Maulana Rehman about the internal situation in Afghanistan, expressing a desire for cordial relations with Pakistan.
Minister for Refugees Haji Khalilur Rehman, present in the meeting, expressed concerns over the expulsion of illegal Afghan refugees from Pakistan, stating that the mistreatment of Afghan refugees in Pakistan should end.
He emphasised that the government of Pakistan should have given time for Afghan refugees for voluntary return.
The JUI-F chief stated that his party had raised its voice over the mistreatment of Afghan refugees by Pakistan.
