The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday has made an announcement about the progress made in the plans to build world-class schools in Balochistan, a working paper prepared for the implementation of the Danish School and Center for Excellence in Balochistan.
In the recently made update, PM Sharif added that, “Danish School and Centers of Excellence will provide modern educational facilities to the poorest children. Schools of world standard, best curriculum, laboratories equipped with IT and technology.”
In the statement, he noted that, “20% of seats will be for those students who can pay fees and other expenses. All other seats will be given to children from lower-income families with less than 25 thousand monthly. Orphans deprived of both parents, widows children get free education Will do.”
“Children of illiterate parents will be admitted in these schools and educational centres. Schools will provide modern infrastructure, furniture, IT labs and other facilities for both boys and girls. Best teachers will be appointed in these schools. A boarding facility will also be provided. A comprehensive poem will be prepared for the best characterization of children in boarding,” said PM Sharif.
Moreover, specialist psychologists and career counselling facilities will also be provided in Danish schools and the Centers of Excellence. Career counselling will encourage children’s educational quality, positive trends and spirit of development.
The Provincial Assembly will make official legislation for this historic project to promote education in Balochistan. Danish School and Centers of Excellence Authority will be established in Balochistan which will be headed by Chief Minister Balochistan.
The Chief Secretary, the Provincial Secretary for Education and Finance and the MD Authority will join other members. At least three representatives nominated by the federal government will also be Authority members.
The Authority will work for the establishment of Danish Schools and Centers of Excellence across the province. The Authority will be responsible for the overall preparation of educational courses, distribution of scholarships along with examinations, and collection of funds from private and government and other sources.
A governing body will also be formed under the Authority with a duration of two years. The governing body will consist of five or more members. The governing Body will run the administrative and financial affairs of Danish schools and the Centres of Excellence.
Principals and other staff of schools will be appointed through the governing body. Members of the governing body will work on a voluntary basis, will not receive any financial benefit. The governing body will ensure transparent manner and admissions on merit.
