The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, held a review meeting of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) affairs. It is to be noted that the entire meeting took place under the chairmanship of Caretaker PM Kakar.
The details about the meeting has been shared by the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar via his official social media handle. During the meeting, PM Kakar held talks on the progress of the privatization of the PIA in detail. Moreover, they have also held discussion on the financial condition of PIA. It has also been shared by the PM Kakar via his official social media handle adding that, “In the meeting, the progress of privatization of PIA was reviewed in detail. The meeting was also informed about the current financial situation of PIA.”
Not just limited to this, the entire meeting also revolved across the major issues that are going on across the state of Pakistan. During the meeting, PM Kakar has ensured that the government of Pakistan will continue to support the PIA in all of the possible ways. Noting to which, he said that, “The government will continue to support PIA in all possible ways until the process of privatization is completed.”
He further said that, “By privatizing the loss-making state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as soon as possible, public tax money will be saved from wastage.”
During the meeting, he further directed that the process of privatization of PIA should be completed as soon as possible. And be regularly informed about the progress.
Meanwhile, Supervisory Federal Ministers Shamshad Akhtar, Fawad Hussain Fawad, Adviser on Aviation Air Marshal (Rtd) Farhat Hussain and relevant senior officers participated in the meeting.
At the same time, the meeting was given a detailed briefing on the current financial situation of PIA and the privatization process. The Prime Minister directed to complete the goals of all the measures related to this within a specified period and also directed to submit a report related to it regularly.
