Another instance of blast reported on the Quetta’s Zarghoon Road on Wednesday, leaving nine people injured. The information about which has been shared by the Quetta police.
It is to be noted that, among those injured in the blast, includes a traffic policeman and three children. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operation, Jawad Tariq, while confirming about the number of injured, said that, “The explosive material was planted in a heap of trash that had been lying for some time.”
He added that, “The explosion took place when children, who were picking trash, were sifting through the garbage.”
SSP Jawad Tariq, said that, “It was not clear about what kind of explosive device was used. The explosion was not a security lapse.”
He added that, “Foolproof security arrangements have been made with regards to the election.”
The head of the Quetta Trauma Centre, Dr Arbab Kamran, said that the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital. While stating further on this, he said that the two of them were reported to be in the critical condition.
It is to be hereby noted that, PPP Candidate, Mir Asghar Rind, on Tuesday, had survived a grenade attack in Turbat. The incident took place when an unknown motorcyclist threw a grenade at his residence in Overseas Colony. Rind, a PPP leader and candidate for the Balochistan Assembly, remained unharmed but his brother sustained injuries.
On Monday, the premises of Government Model High School in Kharan was targeted by unknown men during a training session for polling staff.
Undoubtedly, such heinous attacks in the nation just days before the general elections poses direct threat to the national security of the nation. It is also raising an alarming situation for the security forces who are currently working in order to ensure the safety of the citizens as well as the conducting the elections peacefully.
