Karachi: The talented cricketer and Pakistan cricket team’s current captain Babar Azam on Saturday became the highest run scorer in history of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 26-year-old Karachi Kings’ captain surpassed Peshawar Zalmi’s Kamran Akmal, who held the record previously, during PSL six’s opener against Quetta Gladiators.
The opening batsman scored 24 runs to take his total runs tally in the T20 league to 1540, highest ever in PSL’s history.
Earlier, Akmal had scored 1537 runs in 55 innings since inception of the T20 league. Babar, on the other hand, had 1516 runs from 47 games before the game against Gladiators. His 24-run innings led him to get three runs ahead of the Zalmi batsman.
Akmal is scheduled to play for Zalmi on Sunday afternoon and is likely to retain his position on the list of most runs in history of the tournament.
