The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir on Friday has reviewed the firing of the different Air Defence weapons systems during the Exercise Al-Bayza-III, 2024 at Sonmiani.
During the visit, the chief of the Pakistani army, viewed the integrated fire and battle manoeuvres of Army Air Defence systems, including the High to Medium Air Defence Weapons system (HIMADS), Low to Medium Air Defence system (LOMAD), Short Range Air Defence system (SHORADs) and Extended Short Range Air Defence system (ESHORADs).
While appreciating the achievement of engaging targets with the precision and operational readiness of the Corps of the Army Air Defence, General Munir said that, “he is really happy after seeing the upgradation of the weapon system of the army.”
General Munir also interacted with the officers and the troops, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) highlighted that the armed forces of the nation are modernizing their systems in line with the requirements to deter and be able to reply to any threat that is becoming an obstacle against Pakistan.
Moreover, he has regarded the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) a project of national and strategic importance that would yield manifold benefits for the nation since it would spur technological progress and foster self-reliance by offering a platform for the nation’s youth and future generations.
Earlier, the army chief paid visit to the Army Air Defence Centre, laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada and paid homage to the martyrs of the armed forces.
