Peshawar: The police authorities on Wednesday has nabbed the prime accused behind the attack on four members of the transgender community on September 11. Almost four transgender persons along with their driver sustained wounds when armed men opened fire on their vehicle on the Ring Road in the limits of the Paharipura Police Station.
The police have said that they were returning after performing at a function. As per the first information report (FIR), the wounded were identified as Maheen Muhammad alias Dolphin Ayan, Amjad Ali alias Naina, Zahoor alias Sheena, Shayan alias Haseena and driver Faizan.
Meanwhile, the police have recently registered a case a case on the complaint of transgender person Maheen Muhammad, who is also called as Dolphin Ayan in the showbiz industry. Nauman, Ijaz as well as others were nominated in the FIR. Moreover, the police have added that the accused and the victims had some disputes.
At the same time, police have stated that the prime accused Ijaz was nabbed during a raid. The two other accused were still at large. Moreover, a big number of transgendered persons have been attacked in Peshawar in recent years. The attack left many of them injured while a few lost their lives. Whereas, some of the attacks were carried out by friends of the victims.
