Dominica: The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Layou Road from the Hillsborough Bridge eastwards to the York Valley Bridge in Dominica is nearing completion.
While sharing glimpses of the Layou Road, the government of Dominica stated that the Bridge will provide efficient access to vehicles. It added, “The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Layou Road from the Hillsborough Bridge eastwards to the York Valley Bridge are nearing completion.”
Road surfacing on the twenty-three million, fifteen thousand, seven hundred and seven dollars and twenty-eight cents ($23,015,707.28) project has been completed.
The project is funded through a financing agreement from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB ) and rehabilitates and constructs approximately 4.0km of roadway; excavation for road realignment away from the river bank; conducting river diversion measures to mitigate the damaging effects of the river; construction of road drainage infrastructures to include box culverts and slipper drains; and road markings and signage.
