The Caretaker government of Punjab has taken a strict and decisive action against the Qingqi rickshaws. In a recently made announcement, the government of Punjab has made announcement to ban unapproved motorcycle and loader rickshaws, not only in Punjab, but Lahore as well.
It is to be noted that, the recent step by the government of Punjab came as enhancing the road safety. The decision about the above mentioned has been shared by the Caretaker Punjab Minister for Transport Ibrahim Hassan Murad.
While sharing the information, Minister Murad highlighted the need for this action, mentioning the 30-day warning given to Qingqi rickshaw operators. The crackdown came up with an aim to control the operation of illegal motorcycle and loader rickshaws that have not received any sort of approval from the transport department.
Moreover, the initial phase of the initiative will mainly focus on banning the unapproved rickshaws in major cities, with a further operation planned for smaller cities and rural areas in the upcoming phase. Mentioning on the above mentioned, Minister Murad highlighted the commitment of the government to ensure road safety and curbing the traffic related incidents by addressing the unauthorized use of Qingqi rickshaws.
At the same time, the government of Punjab has also made an announcement about its plan to shut down the local manufacturing of Qingqi rickshaws in the coming times. The measures comes up with an aim to streamline the industry, with the implementation of rules for the rickshaw manufacturing companies.
It is to be hereby added that, the measure also involves the compulsory registration of Qingqi rickshaws to better monitor and manage their operations.
The recently introduced measures mainly on the transportation system highlights the dedication of the government of Punjab towards ensuring an organized transportation system. By taking firm and straight steps to regulate the use and manufacturing of Qingqi rickshaws, the aim of the government is to improve road safety and ensure smooth traffic flow in both urban as well as rural areas.
