The terrorists behind the recent terrorist attack against the security personnel in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank had been traced and their identity would be disclosed ‘very soon.’ The information about the above mentioned has been shared by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan on Tuesday.
It is to be noted that, after inaugurating the ‘command and control room’ at the City Police Station here, Khan said the events in Afghanistan affected peace in Pakistan.
He said that the police were fully prepared to counter terrorism. Adding further on this, he said that, “Thousands of our personnel have sacrificed their lives for the peace in the province and are continuing to do so.”
At the same time, the police chief said that intelligence agencies and police were working alongside each other to restore peace in southern districts.
He said that the intelligence based reports led to the foiling of 99 per cent of terror bids.
Chief Khan said that, “The CTD was being organized across the province with its role extended to tribal districts. We, in order to prevent terrorist attacks in the southern districts, are increasing our capacity.”
He said that the security forces were trying to protect the national border with Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, police chief said that, some tribal districts were considered to be strongholds of militants in the past but peace had been completely restored there.
Along with this, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief said in the current modern times, technology was imperative for policing.
It is to be hereby specifically mentioned that, the command and control room oversees the operations of more than 700 CCTV cameras installed in small markets and intersections of the district to keep a check on the criminal activities taking place. The information about the above mentioned has also been shared by the officials.
