Web Desk (24 News) — Leader of Opposition Khurshid Shah on Friday criticized government, saying that the incident could repeat itself again for any of the parliamentarians. He warned government that deteriorating governance leads way for want of dictatorship, reports 24 News HD.
Taking a hard stance on yesterday’s event where Sheikh Rasheed was harrassed outside parliament, Khurshid Shah said that ‘sanctity of parliament’ is foremost. The difference between government and opposition vanishes, he said, when one becomes parliamentarian and the custodian of the house should be guarded with utmost care.
At an apparent jibe at the speaker, Khurshid Shah stated that Speaker of the House should not become a butcher. He further said that the attacker, Malik Noor Awan, was issued pass by the Deputy Speaker after the perpetrator had harassed Sheikh Rasheed.
