Islamabad (24 News Exclusive): The Panama Papers Case verdict has been announced, and the Supreme Court has ordered the establishment of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for further probe and investigation into the Panama Case, reports 24 News HD.
According to News sources, the Supreme Court bench has ruled that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been ineffective in carrying out the investigations, stating the their conduct has been highly unprofessional.
The establishment of the JIT will be in order to have a bipartisan investigation about the truth behind offshore bank accounts
The bench has also ordered the Additional Director of the FIA to head the JIT in the Panama Papers Corruption Case.
It has also directed the JIT to file a reference against the PM Nawaz Sharif and his relatives if they are found to be guilty of owning offshore bank accounts and illegal properties.
The Supreme Court gave a detailed judgement regarding the case and provided many explanations in favor of its decision. A total of 542 pages were a part of the detailed decision.
As soon as the decision was announced, the supporters of PML (N) started shouting slogans in favor of PM Nawaz and the party.
The Prime Minister had earlier said that he would accept any outcome.
