Islamabad: Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the review petition by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar in alleged election ‘rigging’ case on NA-110 seat from Sialkot from where PMLN stalwart Khawaja Asif had won in 2013 General Election, reported 24 News HD.
Opposition party PTI had a long standing claim that 2013 General Election was rigged. In this regard, PTI demanded inquiry into four National Assembly seats including the NA-110 seat from Sialkot.
On Monday, apex court dismissed review petition of PTI’s contestant from NA-110 Usman Dar. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar upheld the decision by the previous decision of Supreme Court.
In this way, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has retained his National Assembly seat.
