Islamabad: Minister for Law and Justice Mr Zahid Hamid on Monday tabled the bill on extension in tenure of military courts in National Assembly. Lawmakers Sheikh Rasheed and Mehmood Khan Achakzai opposed the amended bill, reported 24 News HD.
PMLN leader Zahid Hamid tabled the bill for 28th amendment in the constitution. Hamid said that earlier when the bill was tabled in the National Assembly, opposition parties had raised several issued in the proposed bill after which reservations of the opposition leaders were listened and resolved in several meetings of parliamentary leaders.
It was reported that Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) president Mehmood Khan Achakzai opposed the amended bill. Achakzai was reported as saying that institutions of judiciary in the country are independent and he has confidence in the existing institutions.
