Web Desk (24 News) — Young Doctors Association (YDA) has continued its strike across the breadth of country, marking 5th day of continuous strikes. Emergency ward in Services Hospital, Lahore has been opened, reported 24 News HD.
According to details, the strike that began when officials of Anti-Corruption raided Services Hospital and struck a senior doctor, has gathered pace as 5th day of strike began.
Lahore, Faislabad, Karachi and Multan have been hit by YDA strike
Various cities including Lahore, Faislabad, Karachi have been affected by YDA strike as hospitals refused service to patients. YDA spokesperson has said that action should be taken against Anti-Corruption officials. Policy of one patient-one bed should be implemented, added YDA spokesperson.
Earlier, Spokesperson Doctor Mahmoud, only the General Council will decide whether the strike should be called off or not. In Faisalabad, grade-4 employees also joined in with the doctors.
In Multan, Young Doctors Association shut down Out Patient Department (OPD) of Nishtar Hospital causing inconvenience to several patients. In some areas, traffic congestion has also been reported due to protests.
