LAHORE (24 News) — Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) continued their strikes well into 4th day on Saturday in various cities. YDA has issued statement that the strike will not be called off till their demands are met, reported 24 News HD.
According to sources, doctors of cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad continued to strike in outdoor wards of hospitals. In Lahore, Mayo Hospital’s indoor services were closed, causing frustration to the patients due to lack of timely treatment.
As per YDA Spokesperson Doctor Mahmoud, only the General Council will decide whether the strike should be called off or not. In Faisalabad, grade-4 employees also joined in with the doctors.
In Multan, Young Doctors Association shut down Out Patient Department (OPD) of Nishtar Hospital causing inconvenience to several patients. In some areas, traffic congestion has also been reported due to protests.
