Islamabad: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday said that the Panama case is a political case. He said that there have always been conspiracies against popular leaders in this country. He added that some elements inside and outside this country are afraid of popular leaders because these leaders can make tough decisions. In this vein, he mentioned the names of Benazir Bhutto, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, reported 24 News HD.
Rafique took a jibe at opposition parties and said that they are not serious about the Panama leaks case. “If they were serious about the Panama case, they would have chosen top-notch lawyers in the country like PMLN did. Our lawyers are professional while petitioners’ lawyers have never been top lawyers.”
“If we analyze Imran Khan’s politics, we find a track record of him pressurizing the institutions and getting the verdict in his favor in this way,” said Rafique.
The federal minister said that he has never seen Shahbaz Sharif or Nawaz Sharif in the last 30-35 years doing anything illegal. He added that Nawaz Sharif is the only leader who can face world pressure at crucial moments. He mentioned the time of nuclear tests and the issue of sending military personnel to Yemen.
