Web Desk: According to initial investigation report by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) police officers were the real target of suicide attacker in Lahore blast, reported 24 News.
The report further stated that attacker was 20-year old and walked to the point before blowing himself up. “six to eight kilogram explosive material was used in the blast,” report mentioned.
The LEAs visited the site of blast and collected further evidences. The initial report has been presented to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Meanwhile the dead body of DIG traffic Captain (r) Mubeen Ahmad has been handed over to family as his funeral prayer was offered at Elite Training Centre.
The dead body of SSP Zahid Gondal has been shifted to Malakwal where his funeral prayer will be offered today.
Following blast, the security is at high alert in Punjab as police has established checkpoints at enter and exit points of Lahore.
A suicide attacker targeted a protesters rally at Mall Road Lahore where large numbers of people were present. Heavy contingent of police was also present at the site when blast occurred.
14 people killed in result of blast and 87 are still under treatment in different hospitals in Lahore. The condition of 13 injured are critical, said doctors.
