Web Desk: In a protest against the recently amended Drug Act, all the medical stores are closed across Punjab and Sindh, reported 24 News.
The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association has rejected the latest bill.
According to details the pharmacists has called the recent amendments as ‘Black Law’ and asked provincial governments to take the changes back.
The medical stores outside Ganga Ram Hospital and Mayo Hospital are closed along with stores outside all major hospitals causing serious difficulties for patients.
Under new amended law the medical store owners have to hire a proper pharmacist in the shops. Along with that selling unregistered medicines and drugs will be fined heavily and shop will be closed by the authorities.
Furthermore, all the medical stores are close on call of Wholesale Chemist Council of Pakistan in Karachi.
The stalemate between pharmaceutical organizations and provincial governments have directly effected the masses who cannot buy the required medicines.
The step was taken by authorities to stop the sale of unregistered and fake medicines in both provinces. Furthermore, presence of pharmacists will ensure the sale of right medicines as hundreds of people get effected because of wrong medicines.
Both parties have not yet engaged in negotiations because of which the protest and strike can go on for days.
