Web Desk: Pakistan Super League (PSL) chairman Najam Sethi has dismissed the media reports and stated that fast bowler Muhammad Irfan was only questioned by Anti Corruption Unit as inquiry will continue. “He is not facing any immediate suspension,” Sethi added.
The chairman further tweeted that Zulfiqar Babar and Shahzaib Hassan were also questioned but they will also continue to play.
“PCB Anti Corruption Unit will remain vigilant and continue to protect PSL from menace of the corruption,” he said in his third tweet.
Earlier media reports were emerged that Muhammad Irfan has been sent back home and his contract is also being suspended by the board. Same news were emerged about Zulfiqar Babar and Shahzaib Hassan. The chairman rejected the rumors.
PSL was hit by match fixing scandal on just second day of its second edition in Dubai. Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif has been sent back to Pakistan for further investigation.
PCB chairman Shahryar Khan told media that board has strong evidences against both players.
Furthermore, there was also name of Nasir Jamshed circulating on media regarding this scandal but Najam Sethi has not given any statement regarding this yet.
Today is the third day of PSL second edition as two matches will be played.
