Web Desk: A day after Fawad Khan broke his silence, Mahira Khan spoke up as well. Both Pakistani actors who had been under fire for not condemning the Uri attack, have unequivocally condemned terror of all hues and sought for a peaceful world for the coming generation, reported 24 News.
The two Facebook status(es) have almost saved the world from a spectre of nuclear war- especially the two South Asian countries who had went for each other’s jugular in part because Fawad and Mahira’s status upload was taking so much time.
Mahira Khan in her message on Facebook wrote:
“In the 5 years that I have been working as an actor I believe that I have tried my best to keep my country’s respect intact – by being a professional and by representing Pakistan here and elsewhere to the best of my abilities,” she wrote.
She unequivocally condemned violence and terrorism.
“As a Pakistani and citizen of the world I strongly condemn any act of terror, any loss of human life no matter which soil it is on. I will not rejoice in bloodshed and war. I will always hope for and dream of a world where my child can live without it, and always plead with everyone to imagine a peaceful world,” she added.
Mahira Khan ended her message on an optimistic note and wrote, “It has also been in this time my faith in saner minds and goodness has been restored, thank you for the messages, love and support. Hoping and praying for peace always.”
As the season of war hysteria between Pakistan and India dies out slowly, it appears saner voices have gradually started to take over.
Earlier on Friday, Fawad Khan had expressed similar sentiments in his message.
