Islamabad: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while addressing a press conference in Islamabad announced 14 years of punishment for illegal CNIC holders. He also vowed to purge the country of aliens.
“Cases will be registered against those illegally living the country. They will be sent to prison for 14 years,” he said.
Nisar said that 23,000 people have so far been proved to be foreigners living in the country.
He announced that the first phase of CNIC verification campaign has been completed in which CNICs of around 2.6 million people have been verified by National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) during a period of one month.
“I assure you that with the help of Nadra, media and our people we will be able to throw out the intruders from the country,” he added.
Backing Rangers powers in Sindh, he said that the government fully supports Rangers who have brought peace to Karachi after improved law and order situation. He said that the paramilitary force can only be expected to deliver when they have the power.
He also said that operation in Karachi was only taken after taking all parties on board.
