Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on Saturday after undergoing a successful open heart surgery in London, reported 24 News.
Nawaz Sharif underwent a successful open heart surgery at The Harley Street Clinic. It was administered by his surgeon Dr David Lawrence in May.
Nawaz Sharif before leaving from London thanked the entire nation for praying for his good health.
Upon his return PM Nawaz Sharif in a reference to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) reasserted that sit-ins are not a solution to country’s problems. He also vowed to continue to serve the country.
Nawaz Sharif stayed in London for more than a month and a half. He had left for London on May 22 and underwent the surgery on May 30.
After prolonged stay of the PM in London, his camp office had been shifted to London too. Earlier doctors forbade him to travel in wake of his medical condition.
Special PIA plane tasked to take the PM back
A special Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Boeing -777 plane was tasked to take back the PM and his family members back from London.
Prime Minister, his family and staff members-nearly 100 people-were on board.
Special security measures were taken to receive the Prime Minister at the Hajj terminal of Lahore airport, reported 24 News.
1800 security personnel were deployed on way from Hajj terminal till Raiwind.
Arrangements were also made to make flowers available. Pictures had been put on display at the airport as well.
Party stalwarts, workers and Lahore district administration officials welcomed the PM at the airport.
Among those present at the airport included Raja Zafarul Haq, Ishaq Dar, CM Shahbaz Sharif, Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Khwaja Saad Rafique, Abid Sher Ali, Chaudhry Nisar, Deputy Speaker Javed Murtaza Abbasi, Commissioner Lahore, DCO Lahore, 3 SPs, 12 DSPs among others.
